Frederic Pouyot has been involved with renewable energy since the eighties. As early as 1984, Frederic was already conducting solar feasibility studies for public pools for the "Conseil d'Architecture, d'Urbanisme et d'Environnement” and then worked for the leading national Manufacturer of Solar Energy in France. Frederic was contracted by the "Agence Francaise pour la Maitrise de l'Energie" as a solar energy auditor. In the late eighties, Frederic was president of Solar Service International and then became president of The Green Power Network at the turn of the century. Frederic started GPEKS in the fall of 2002. Since then, Frederic initiated and managed dozens of renewable energy feasibility projects, and has been active on projects in developing countries, especially Africa. Frederic has worked extensively with the Canadian Solar Industry Association (CanSIA) on various outreach and technical education projects. Frederic was commissioned by CanSIA to co-develop the Canadian Certification curriculum for Installers of Solar Water Heating equipment, developed the first set of exams for that certification, and wrote 45 technical articles for CanSIA. Frederic has led RE project analyses for many clients. Frederic led the development and delivery of over a dozen courses and 3 project feasibility analysis programs covering 9 different clean energy technologies. These courses have been delivered across Canada, the US, South America, Europe, Africa and Asia. Frederic is an authorized RETScreen trainer, and a trainer of trainers in RETScreen. Under his leadership, the Clean Energy Institute offers Clean Energy Project Feasibility Analysis certificate courses which expand on the curriculum initially developed by RETScreen.
